This is the mixes that you can use. The first is what I have used but my sister says that the second works just the same and it is cheaper. I have found the meringue powder at Walmart, the other I didn't but we are here in Rexburg. After you mix it, if you are going to make more than one color you need to separate them and put them in tupperware and keep them covered. The frosting will crust over and then it makes it hard to decorate so keep them covered as much as possible.

The powders come with the recipes. When you have it mixed you ad water itty bitty bit by bit. after you add a little you mix it then hold up the spoon and watch it ribbon back in the bowl. Count to ten and it should melt back into it self.

You can use the normal food coloring but you have to be careful because you are adding more liquid. I like the gel colorings. You can find those at walmart too.

I have found that the best tip to use is a number 3. I put the bag in a big cup while I am trying to fill it. It just seems easier that way.

You outline the cookies first. You can't get too close to the edge or the frosting will run over the edge. Outline the pan of cookies before you fill them in so that the outline has a chance to set up a little.

I usually just make alot of lines in the middle and then you push the frosting around with the tip. Don't worry if they don't look good at first. It takes practice.

The finished product. Start with something simpe like hearts. If anybody needs help or has a question call me. 208-359-0990 or my cell 208-709-4493.
